A person seeking the status of a stateless person in Georgia (a person who submits an application for determining the status of a stateless person in Georgia) is issued a temporary identification card as an identity document. A temporary identification card is issued for a period of 1 year.
To obtain a temporary identification card, a person must submit an application to any territorial office of the House of Justice or State Services Development Agency.
To the application submitted for obtaining a temporary identification certificate, the person must attach:
- One of the following identity documents:
- Document confirming identity and/or citizenship of a foreign country;
- Birth certificate or other official document that allows identification of the person;
- Color biometric photograph, size 3.5x4.5 cm, in electronic form;
- Any document (if any) proving that the person does not have citizenship of any country;
- If the person is in a prison/detention facility, a document confirming the fact;
- If the person is unable to express her/his will or move, a document confirming the fact;
- In the case of a child who is homeless and/or a victim of violence, as well as an appeal to the guardianship and care authority, indicating that the minor has been recognized as a child who is homeless and/or a victim of violence.
